Indoor blinds are window coverings installed inside residential spaces to control light, privacy, and temperature. Main types include roller blinds with fabric wrapped around a tube mechanism, venetian blinds with horizontal slats in aluminium or wood, vertical blinds with hanging slats for wide openings, and honeycomb blinds with cellular construction for insulation. Light control comes from blockout fabrics that eliminate light transmission or sheer fabrics that filter light while maintaining privacy. Operation methods include manual chain control or motorised systems. Selection depends on window dimensions, light control needs, and installation conditions. Many indoor blinds are available in standard configurations suitable for online purchase using measurement guides, while custom sizes, complex window layouts, and coastal installations benefit from professional consultation.

Yes. Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings offers roller blinds, zebra blinds, honeycomb blinds, venetian blinds, and no-drill blinds online at shop.customblinds.co.za with nationwide delivery. Shutters, screens, and security products require a site visit and are available in the Garden Route.
Our covers you: if your blind arrives too big, we trim it free of charge. If it arrives too small, it is remade at a reduced price. We also include a free metal tape measure with every order and offer phone support while you measure.
PVC shutters, aluminium venetian blinds, and aluminium security shutters all handle coastal moisture and salt air without deterioration. For blinds, we recommend moisture-resistant fabrics and aluminium headrails rather than timber components in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
In many cases, yes. Somfy wireless and rechargeable motors can be retrofitted into existing roller blinds and outdoor blinds without structural changes. Duncan assesses during a site visit whether your existing products are compatible.
A typical home with blinds across multiple rooms takes half a day to a full day depending on the number of windows. Shutters may take 1–2 days. Security screens and safety bars are usually completed in a day. We schedule installations to minimise disruption.

Blinds
Roller, honeycomb, venetian, and no-drill blinds across the Garden Route. Coastal towns benefit from moisture-resistant headrails and salt-safe fabrics.
Shutters
Custom Lifestyle Shutters manufactured to order and installed across five Garden Route towns. PVC is the default for coastal humidity, with basswood for sheltered inland rooms.
Screens
Security and insect screens fitted on site. Knysna and Plett properties often need baboon-rated mesh, while Sedgefield homes typically prioritise insect screening for open-plan living.
Automation
Somfy motorisation retrofits to existing blinds and shutters. Wind and sun sensors are especially popular in exposed coastal positions in Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.
