Price follows blind type, window size, fabric and motorisation. The online shop prices any made-to-measure blind instantly from your own measurements; Garden Route awnings, shutters and outdoor blinds are quoted after Duncan’s site visit.
Yes. Every blind ordered on the online shop is made to your measurements and couriered free to any address in South Africa, with no minimum order.
It covers every online order. If the measurements supplied were wrong, too big is cut down free and returned, too small is remade at a reduced price, and we cover the courier both ways. If the error is ours, every cost is ours.
Production takes about 5 to 7 working days, plus courier transit, which depends on your region. Tracking details are sent when the order ships.
The online shop takes Visa and Mastercard through Yoco and instant EFT through Ozow. Garden Route projects are paid by EFT on the staged terms in the terms and conditions, or in full on order at the discount shown on the quotation.
Steel tape, millimetres. Width at top, middle and bottom, height at left, centre and right. Inside mount: send the exact opening, narrowest width and longest height; the factory deducts 10mm per side. Face fix: add 100mm overlap each side and send the totals. Yes. Every blind ships with brackets, screws and a fitting guide; most rollers and venetians take a drill and a pencil. On the Garden Route the installation team fits for you.
Yes. No-drill blinds use tension brackets that press-fit inside the window recess, for rentals and heritage homes. Rollers on a chain and 25mm aluminium and aluwood venetians on a cord. Shop no-drill blinds.
No. Estimates and consultations are complimentary. Send dimensions and photos on WhatsApp, or your building plans for larger projects; Duncan does the final measurements on site from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay.
Roller blinds (blockout, light-filtering, sheer), double roller zebra blinds, honeycomb blinds, venetians (aluminium, aluwood, plaswood, bamboo), vertical blinds and Vertishades, bamboo blinds, no-drill blinds, motorised blinds, and outdoor blinds in clear PVC, sheerweave and canvas. All made to measure.
Blockout rollers or honeycomb for full privacy. Venetians tilt to block a sightline while keeping air. Double rollers give both, a sheer for the day and a blockout for the night. Privacy solutions.
Yes, where insulation and quiet matter. The cells trap air, so the room is warmer in winter and cooler in summer, and they are the quietest and lightest blind to operate. Honeycomb buyers guide.
Yes. Aluminium venetians and PVC shutters are moisture-resistant, outdoor blinds run on powder-coated aluminium with stainless fixings, and Duncan specifies fabric and hardware for salt air, UV and wind on every Garden Route site visit.
Retractable folding-arm awnings, aluminium louvre awnings, fall-arm awnings, canvas awnings and wedge awnings. Folding-arm and louvre awnings take Somfy motorisation with wind and sun sensors. Custom Lifestyle canvas awnings are made in Knysna; every awning is installed by the Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings team on the Garden Route.
A folding-arm awning is fabric on arms: instant shade, retracts fully, limited rain cover, and retracts itself on a wind sensor. A louvre awning has aluminium blades that close in rain and open for light, and it handles wind. Compared for Garden Route conditions.
Cover above plus protection at the side: a louvre awning overhead and outdoor blinds or clear PVC on the windward side. Duncan reads the patio’s orientation and exposure before recommending the combination.
Every awning is a custom project priced on type, span, motorisation and fixing. Send dimensions and photos on WhatsApp for an estimate; a written quotation follows Duncan’s measurements on site.
A full-cassette folding-arm or louvre awning with Somfy wind automation, on a powder-coated aluminium frame with 316 stainless fittings and solution-dyed acrylic fabric. Lesser frames corrode and printed fabrics fade within a few salt-air seasons.
No. It retracts in strong wind, which is why Somfy wind automation is fitted as standard on the coast. It is not a rain roof; for sit-out cover choose a louvre awning with outdoor blinds.
Custom Lifestyle PVC shutters are made to the Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings specification in Cape Town and installed by our own team on the Garden Route, which is how non-standard sizes and shapes are accommodated. Aluminium security shutters are supplied and installed across the Garden Route.
PVC. Timber swells, warps and needs repainting in salt air. PVC is waterproof, UV-stable and never needs paint, and at a glance reads as timber. Indoor shutters.
Clear PVC blinds keep the view and seal out wind and rain; sheerweave blinds filter light and cut wind while air still moves; side-channel and Ziptrak systems lock the fabric on exposed sites; cafe blinds suit restaurants. All can be motorised. Outdoor blinds.
Yes. Clear PVC, sheerweave and canvas outdoor blinds are made to measure and delivered free nationwide from the online shop. Side-channel, Ziptrak and motorised systems are installed on the Garden Route only.
Yes, when properly fitted. Standard fly-screen mesh stops mosquitoes, midges and most flying insects; poor fitting is why screens fail. Hinged, sliding, retractable and fixed screens are fitted with sealed edges on the Garden Route.
Fly screens use fine mesh against insects. Security screens use stainless steel mesh, such as Corner Star, strong enough to resist forced entry while air and the view pass through, replacing burglar bars with a cleaner look. Both fit doors and windows.
A SABS-compliant stainless steel window and door restrictor designed in South Africa. It holds a window or door open for ventilation and secures it against forced entry, child falls, pet escapes and baboons. Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings is the LockLatch partner for the Garden Route.
