The blind rolls onto a tube housed in an aluminium cassette. Aluminium side channels run down each side of the opening, and aluminium battens across the fabric run inside them, so the blind travels in its channels and the side gaps are covered. The cassette is recessed into the channels for a clean, framed finish.
A locking pin in the bottom bar holds the lowered blind in place. Channels and cassette come in white or charcoal, and custom colours are made on special request. Every Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings sidetrack blind is made to measure for its opening.

A removable geared crank handle is standard on every Custom Blinds sidetrack outdoor blind. Somfy motorisation is an optional upgrade, worth it on wide or high blinds and where several blinds work together.
Both systems run in channels down each side of the opening. Ziptrak® is the Australian spline-in-track system with spring-balanced operation, and Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings is the authorised Ziptrak® agent for the Garden Route.
The Custom Blinds sidetrack system is South African-made, uses aluminium battens in its channels and is crank operated, with Somfy as an option. Raise every outdoor blind when the wind reaches near gale force, Beaufort 7, from about 50 km/h (28 knots). A lowered blind catches wind like a sail, which can tear the fabric and damage components and mechanisms. Damage from leaving a blind down in those conditions is not covered.
Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings sidetrack outdoor blinds carry a 3-year fabric warranty and 1-year components warranty. Soltis fabric is also backed by Serge Ferrari's own 5-year fabric warranty.
