Aluminium-framed fly screens fit windows, sliding doors, stacking doors, and hinged openings across Plett’s range of property types. Fixed screens mount permanently for year-round insect protection. Sliding and hinged screens suit patio doors and larger openings, keeping views and door access clear.
Mesh grades range from standard fibreglass insect mesh to stainless steel micro-mesh that blocks the smallest midges common around the Keurbooms estuary and Bitou River mouth at dusk. Mosquito activity peaks from November through March, concentrated in low-lying areas near river mouths and the wetland corridors. All frames are powder-coated for coastal salt air resistance. Custom sizing handles the large sliding door configurations common in Plett’s open-plan coastal architecture.

Security-grade screens are rated for primate resistance. Standard fly screens are not. Yes. All frames are powder-coated aluminium specified for coastal environments. Powder coating is UV-resistant and salt-resistant. Mesh options include marine-grade stainless steel for the highest corrosion resistance. Uncoated frames and low-grade mesh are not recommended for Plett properties in direct coastal exposure.
