Blinds Hermanus
Nothing to book, nobody to wait on. Showroom brands at direct prices, and the saving covers a handyman.
Salt air, Overberg wind and Western Cape UV shorten the life of the wrong blind. Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings has spent since 2010 on a coast learning which ones survive it, and sends that choice to Hermanus with the price already on screen.

“Hermanus and Knysna share the same coast, the same salt air, and the same UV. We have been selecting and installing blinds in these conditions since 2010. What we recommend, we trust with our own name.”Duncan Kane Founder, Custom Blinds Shutters & Awnings South Africa
Buying blinds in Hermanus usually means a showroom visit or a rep at your house before anyone quotes you.
Custom Blinds South Africa gives you the price up front instead. You go to the online shop, select your blind type, enter your window measurements, and the price appears on screen. No appointment. No home visit. No deposit before you see a number. If you want advice, WhatsApp 076 022 8410 and our team responds directly.
The products are Somfy, Hunter Douglas, and Coulisse. The same international brands that premium coastal homes deserve. And we know coastal conditions intimately because we install these products every day on the Garden Route, over 300 kilometres along the same coastline.
Renovating a holiday home? Order your blinds before you arrive. We deliver to Hermanus, Onrus, Stanford, Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, and anywhere in the Overberg. The blinds arrive ready to fit.
The Overberg coast is beautiful but demanding. Salt-laden south-easters corrode lesser quality mechanisms. Winter storms drive rain against cliff-face windows. Summer UV bleaches unprotected fabrics within a season. And the famous Hermanus light, the reason people move here, needs careful management indoors. Every product below is available in the Custom Blinds online shop with instant pricing and free delivery to Hermanus.
Roller blinds suit most Overberg homes. Sheer fabrics filter the intense coastal light while preserving the mountain and ocean views that define Hermanus living. Blockout fabrics handle bedrooms where early summer sunrise reflects off Walker Bay. All mechanisms are designed for UV and salt exposure. Read our complete roller blinds guide or compare sheer versus blockout.
Honeycomb blinds are ideal for Hermanus homes that face the ocean or the mountains. The cellular air pockets create an insulation layer that reduces heat gain in summer and retains warmth during the Overberg’s cold, wet winters. For south-facing rooms that lose heat rapidly, honeycomb blinds make a noticeable difference. Our honeycomb product page covers all sizes and fabrics.
No-drill blinds suit rental properties, Airbnb holiday lets, and retirement villages where permanent fixtures are either impractical or not permitted. They mount using spring tension inside the window frame with no screws and no damage. Read our no-drill blinds guide.
Aluminium venetian blinds handle the salt and moisture that the Overberg coast delivers daily. Unlike real wood, aluminium does not corrode, warp, or develop mould in sea-facing rooms. The slats tilt to manage the famous Hermanus light without blocking it entirely. For interior rooms with better protection, wooden and aluwood venetians bring warmth and texture to the space.
Outdoor blinds extend the living season on Overberg patios and covered terraces. Clear PVC panels protect against the winter storms that roll in from Walker Bay. Shadeweave fabrics at 5% openness reduce glare during summer whale-watching season while keeping airflow. The Overberg lifestyle is built around outdoor living. The right blinds make it possible year round. Shop outdoor blinds online.
