What baboons do to a standard screen

A troop tests a screen by pulling, prying and pushing. It grips the mesh edge, lifts the frame and levers the weak points. A fibreglass fly screen fails at every one.

Marine mesh, powder-coated frame.

Standard mesh is aluminium or fibreglass in a bare aluminium frame; it hazes, corrodes and bends. These screens use stainless steel mesh and powder-coated aluminium frames for colour stability in salt air, with clear outward daytime visibility and a full cross breeze. Finishes in white, charcoal and bronze match aluminium window systems. For night privacy, pair with shutters or indoor blinds.

Baboon-resistant screen care in coastal air

  1. Clean

    Mild soapy water and a soft cloth when the surface is cool, rinsed with fresh water and dried at the corners. No abrasives. Monthly at the coast; a quick rinse after a spell of sea spray on a holiday home.

  2. Check

    Locks, corners and fixings twice a year and after storms or wildlife activity; wipe off salt build-up.

Questions buyers ask about baboon-resistant screens

Do these screens rust in salty coastal air?

No. Stainless steel mesh and powder-coated aluminium frames are specified for marine conditions; rinse the salt off and they keep their finish.

Can baboons or monkeys force these screens open?

The clamped mesh and locking hardware are built to resist exactly the pulling, lifting and levering a troop uses.
