Louvered living: not blocking the world, inviting it in on your terms.
Tilt the louvres to send morning sun across the ceiling or filter the afternoon glare off the sea.
Clean lines replace bunched curtains. Open-plan homes feel intentional; smaller rooms feel larger.
Angled louvres block sightlines and keep the connection outside. Light enters, neighbours do not.
“We wake up to gentle light instead of glare. The shutters changed how our bedroom feels.”Shutter owner, Robberg, Plettenberg Bay
Not a limitation. A refinement.
Optimal diffusion, superior airflow, elegant proportion. Smaller louvres look busy and restrict ventilation.
WidthWorks with every interior and reflects coastal light. No trend to chase.
FinishNo centre rod interrupting the view or making adjustment feel mechanical. One touch at the edge moves every louvre.
OperationUV inhibitors hold the finish; a non-porous surface absorbs no moisture. Built for 15 to 25 years of coastal performance.

Beautiful, and briefly
04 Four mistakes
Choosing a centre tilt rod that dominates the window. Fitting shutters where complete blackout is needed: they reduce light, they do not eliminate it, and a shift worker’s bedroom is better served by a blockout roller. Choosing timber on the coast. Measuring without a site visit, which produces shutters that function but do not elevate the room.
Bathrooms and kitchensYes. Non-porous PVC in steam and splash, wiped clean.

Duncan measures each opening and how the room is used; hinged, bi-fold or bypass is decided to the opening.

Adjustable louvred panels fitted inside the window, 89mm louvres in white with a hidden tilt system, that shape light without blocking the view or airflow.
Marine-grade PVC absorbs no moisture, ignores salt air and holds its finish under UV. Timber in Plett typically warps, cracks and fades within five to ten years.
The rod obscures the view and makes adjustment mechanical. The hidden tilt system moves every louvre together from a single touch at the edge.
Installed and cared for correctly, 15 to 25 years.
Yes. PVC is non-porous and wipes clean, so steam and splashes do it no harm.
