Indoor Blinds
Roller blinds, zebra day-night blinds, honeycomb blinds, venetian blinds (aluminium, basswood, and bamboo), vertical blinds, and vertishades. Fabrics range from full blockout to light-filtering sheerweave. Every blind is made to measure — order online with nationwide delivery, or book a Garden Route consultation for complex windows and coastal specifications.

Indoor Shutters
Custom Lifestyle Shutters™ in PVC, basswood, and aluminium. Shutters give you full control over light, airflow, and privacy with a clean architectural look that suits both contemporary and traditional interiors. Our PVC shutters are ideal for coastal and humid environments — no warping, no fading, no repainting. Basswood adds warmth and natural grain for bedrooms and living areas.
All shutters are manufactured in-house, which means we control quality, lead times, and can match exact colour and louvre specifications.
Security Screens
High-tensile stainless steel mesh screens that let air and light through while keeping intruders out. Security screens replace burglar bars with a cleaner, stronger alternative — no visual clutter, no compromise on ventilation. Tested to resist knife, lever, and impact attacks. Fitted to windows and doors.
Fly & Insect Screens
Retractable, hinged, and fixed-frame fly screens for doors and windows. Keep insects out while maintaining airflow and views. Options include magnetic close for high-traffic doorways, pet-resistant mesh, and colour-matched frames that disappear against the window profile.
Aluminium Security Shutters
Solid aluminium roller shutters for windows and doors. Bolt-down security when you are away, storm protection during coastal weather, and complete blackout for shift workers and media rooms. Manual or Somfy-motorised operation. Powder-coated in any RAL colour to match your exterior.
Safety Bars & Barriers
Aluminium safety bars for upper-storey windows, balconies, and staircases. Designed to meet child-safety requirements while looking clean and minimal. Available in fixed or removable configurations. Powder-coated to blend with your window frames.
LockLatch
The LockLatch lets you lock windows and doors in a partially open position — secure enough to keep intruders out, open enough to allow ventilation. Ideal for bedrooms, bathrooms, and sliding doors. Simple to install, no drilling into frames on most window types.
Somfy Home Automation
Motorise your blinds, shutters, and awnings with Somfy smart home systems. TaHoma hub for app control, Google Home and Alexa voice integration, wind and sun sensors that respond automatically. Retrofit motors fit existing products — no rewiring needed. Custom Blinds is an authorised Somfy partner on the Garden Route.
How We Work
Every product is custom-fitted to your windows. For Garden Route homes, Duncan visits on-site to measure, advise, and design. For national orders, our online measuring guide walks you through it — and if you need help, call or WhatsApp and we will talk you through every window.
Manufacturing happens locally for shutters and awnings. Blinds are made to your exact measurements by our supply partners including Somfy, Hunter Douglas, and Coulisse. Typical lead times are 5–10 working days for blinds, 2–4 weeks for shutters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install across the Garden Route?
Yes. We install blinds, shutters, screens, safety bars, and automation systems from Mossel Bay through George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna, and Plettenberg Bay. Duncan handles site visits and our installation team covers the full Garden Route.
Can I order indoor blinds online for delivery anywhere in South Africa?
Yes. Roller blinds, zebra blinds, honeycomb blinds, venetian blinds, and no-drill blinds can all be ordered online at shop.customblinds.co.za with nationwide delivery. Shutters, screens, and security products require a site visit and are available in the Garden Route.
What if I order the wrong size?
Our Custom Fit Guarantee covers you: if your blind arrives too big, we trim it free of charge. If it arrives too small, you receive 5% off a replacement. We also include a free metal tape measure with every order and offer phone support while you measure.
Which products are best for coastal humidity?
PVC shutters, aluminium venetian blinds, and aluminium security shutters all handle coastal moisture and salt air without deterioration. For blinds, we recommend moisture-resistant fabrics and aluminium headrails rather than timber components in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
Can I motorise my existing blinds?
In many cases, yes. Somfy wireless and rechargeable motors can be retrofitted into existing roller blinds and outdoor blinds without structural changes. Duncan assesses during a site visit whether your existing products are compatible.
How long does installation take?
A typical home with blinds across multiple rooms takes half a day to a full day depending on the number of windows. Shutters may take 1–2 days. Security screens and safety bars are usually completed in a day. We schedule installations to minimise disruption.
