Security Screens
Keep your home open to light and air without feeling exposed. Security screens protect doors and windows while
keeping the view, ventilation and coastal ease intact.
Why security screens
They allow everyday airflow without leaving the house open. The mesh is strong and the frames are rigid. The
look is clean and light. No bars. No heavy profiles. Just a calmer way to live with doors and windows open.
- High strength stainless mesh set in structural aluminium frames.
- Clear outward visibility with natural ventilation.
- Discreet locks and hardware that sit neatly in the frame.
- Coastal ready finishes that resist corrosion and daily wear.
Each screen is measured and fitted specifically for your doors and windows. Security screens are not off the
shelf products. The fit determines the strength and the ease of daily use. We take measurements onsite, confirm
opening direction, handle clearance, lock position and how the household moves through the space. This helps
the screen feel natural in daily living rather than added on later.
The frames sit cleanly against your joinery and the mesh remains tensioned so the view stays clear. The result
is a quiet upgrade that protects the home while keeping the light, air and openness that coastal living needs.
We install weekly across the Garden Route including Sedgefield, Knysna, Brenton and Plettenberg Bay.
Security screens or fly screens
Choose the result you want, then select the screen that delivers it in your rooms.
| Need | Best choice | Everyday reality |
|---|---|---|
| Keep doors open with added peace of mind | Security screens | Clean views, smooth operation, discreet locks. |
| Stop insects with maximum airflow | Fly screens | Light frames, fine mesh, easy care. |
Made for coastal homes
Sun, salt air and wind are part of life here. Screens need to handle this quietly in the background. We specify
corrosion resistant finishes, coastal grade mesh and fixings that hold their setting. The result is smooth
daily use and a house that stays open more often.

From Duncan: “We install these weekly along the coast. The material is important but the fit
matters more. If a screen is not aligned to how the door is used every day, it becomes something you work around.
We measure onsite so the screen feels natural to live with, not added as an afterthought.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Are security screens a replacement for burglar bars
Yes. The stainless steel mesh and aluminium frame act as a physical barrier. This provides protection without
blocking airflow or closing the home in.
Will the screens rust in coastal areas
No. The mesh is marine grade 316 stainless steel and the frames are powder coated aluminium. This is the same
type of specification used in coastal architectural hardware.
Can they be fitted to sliding or stacker doors
Yes. We measure onsite to ensure the screen clears handles, moves smoothly with the door and feels natural in
daily use.
Do they help with baboons and monkeys
Yes. The mesh stays tensioned and the frame is locked into position. This helps prevent pulling, pushing or
prying at the edges.
How often do they need maintenance
Occasional cleaning with fresh water is usually enough. The system is designed for daily use in coastal
conditions.
