What “no drill blinds” actually means
“No drill” is not a blind style. It is a mounting method.
The blind is held in place by controlled pressure between the top and bottom of the window recess.

How tension compares to other no-drill systems
Clip-in frame systems
Some no-drill systems use a frame that clips into the rubber beading around uPVC window panes. uPVC is a plastic window frame common in the United Kingdom but rarely used in South African residential construction. Most SA homes have aluminium or wooden frames, which do not have the rubber beading these systems require. Adapter frames exist for other surfaces, though they add cost and complexity.
Snap-fit bracket systems
A newer approach uses brackets that snap onto the window frame without screws. Published performance data on these systems is limited, so direct comparison with tension mounting is difficult at this stage.
